Aphrodite is a retail store for young, strong-minded college-aged women. They will also be looking to capture consumer-driven content by hosting a spot for amateur designers to display their latest creations.
As far as logo inspiration, Aphrodite mentioned Apple, due to its simple and contemporary appeal. They were interested in a modern, edgy mark, that would convey the attitude of someone who “isn’t afraid to take risks”. They also desired a bit of a feminine touch, but nothing overly girly. The color palette was to remain black and white in order to demand attention, and of course Aphrodite sought a logo that was unique with a strong personality.
